The maritime industry serves as the backbone of global trade and transport, playing a critical role in connecting economies and facilitating the movement of goods and people across the world. However, this vast network is vulnerable to various security threats, including piracy, armed robbery, terrorism, stowaways, smuggling, and cyberattacks. Such threats not only compromise vessel safety and operational efficiency but also put the lives of crew members, passengers, and port personnel at risk.

To address these challenges, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) implemented the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which mandates security awareness training for all maritime personnel. The Security Awareness Training Course is a foundational program designed to equip seafarers with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify, mitigate, and respond to potential security risks effectively. By fostering a proactive approach to maritime security, this course ensures the safety and integrity of vessels, ports, and global trade operations.
